Strategic Leadership
Thoughtful strategy drives results. One of my great strengths is helping organizations in the early and middle stages of growth. As their first Communications Director, at Coral Restoration Foundation™, I built the communications and marketing department, developing its annual strategic plan, building a new website, coordinating an immense increase in press coverage, and driving a 450% growth in social media reach. This results-driven approach delivered a remarkable rise in online donations.

Editorial Excellence
I have a keen eye for a great story, and for intuitively finding the best way to illustrate and present it. I also have a pedantic eye for detail. As Senior Editor at Asian Geographic Magazines Pte Ltd, from 2013 to 2017, I wielded editorial responsibility for three international titles with a combined print run of 200,000+ and won the MPAS Editor of the Year Award in 2015 for the magazine "Scuba Diver Ocean Planet". I oversaw the publication and editorial direction of several beautiful, thematic books, and, for ADEX, the world's biggest annual underwater expo, I also developed the ADEX Asian Diver Special Edition and MC'd the Underwater Photo & Video Stage for multiple years.

Entrepreneurial Vision
My bold, entrepreneurial spirit is rooted in innovation and positive change. In 2012 I founded NGOpolis - a pioneering online, grassroots networking site for the conservation and sustainable development sector, engaging 500+ users within the first six months.

International Collaborations
I am an inherent systems thinker, problem solver, and connector. In my role at Zero Emissions Research & Initiatives (ZERI) I spearheaded a strategy for combining biomimetic technology with nature conservation and sustainable development through The World Conservation Union, IUCN. On behalf of CRF™, I have been involved in other multi-agency efforts through the Coral Restoration Consortium and Reef Futures. And I served as one of the first two Co-Chairs of the Mission: Iconic Reefs Communications Working Group.

Storytelling with Impact
I know that complex narratives are often best communicated through powerful visual storytelling. As a consultant, writer, editor, and narrator for Egypt's Image House, I wrote and edited scripts for several natural history films funded by prestigious international organizations including UNEP. I also provided consultancy and copy editing services for the interpretive signage at the world-famous Wadi Hitan - the Valley of the Whales.

Passion Rooted in Experience
From my earliest years growing up on the coral reefs and in the deserts of Saudi Arabia, my life has been spent immersed in nature. This has shaped a career dedicated to environmental causes. Living and working in the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas has resulted in a deeply ingrained respect for human diversity and the ways in which our cultures and livelihoods are intrinsically connected to the beautiful ecosystems that we live within.
